COVID-19 Care Study of American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

Not only was the COVID-19 pandemic an unprecedented event, but the ability to access the medically underserved population (MUP) presented an even larger problem. The goal of this project was to deploy a novel digital health solution (DHS) capable of improving disease outcomes and optimizing the containment of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. The study focused on increasing access to care for medically underserved areas (MUAs) and populations (MUPs), specifically American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities.

The government was looking for a company that could bridge contracting/program management with the delicate expertise of cultural messaging to collect COVID-related medical data from the MUP that were trusted in the community.

The results of this project demonstrated that the DHS could be used to monitor a variety of data and conditions, including post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection, long-haul COVID, cancer, diabetes, hypertension and/or cardiovascular disease, especially in MUAs and other hard to-reach study populations.
